Meet Our Founder

Hey there! I'm Meg, and I'm so happy you're here.

I LOVE TEACHING TEACHERS. Before I entered the fitness world, I was an educator, with my Masters in Education and years of experience in special education, learning how to adapt to individual learning differences and needs, identify and connect with various learning styles, and build relationships based on trust so that I could fulfill my professional duty to push my students outside of their comfort zone, where change, growth, and meaningful learning occur.

Spinal injuries and surgeries ended my running career and began my pilates one. I studied pilates to heal myself, but fell in love with teaching it, and passing down this relatively new art form to the next generation of teachers. I felt a calling towards helping people heal their bodies and change their lives. Years of dealing with my own injuries, setbacks, and life-changing prognoses definitely shaped my interest in sports psychology, and development of my own injury prevention coaching method. My philosophy is "Injury is Opportunity."

Mobility, biomechanics training, and gait analysis shape how I teach pilates and coach athletes. I am a proponent of the "Tigers don't do sit ups" principle, teaching my athletes and coaches that how we move and nourish our body day to day is the entire foundation for all of the work we do in training, and therefore, should be the focus.

When I left studio work to start out on my own, almost all of my clients who came with me, and founded my business, were instructors and athletes. Going out on my own was such a leap and this core group shaped my landing as a coach for fitness professionals who want to transform lives.

Organically throughout years of studio teaching, my following had become other teachers, because they knew I would both teach them pilates and teach them how to teach pilates.

PLAY evolved from my own journey, which started with me needing a walker to walk, all the way into my performance evolution, re-training to become a sprinter and studying for years to attain certifications in multiple areas of sports performance.

The more informed I became, the more questions I had that didn't have clear answers. Realizing that these answers were only going to come from a hybrid of sources and my own fusion coaching experience, PLAY came to be.

I have invested over forty thousand dollars and thousands of hours into my own professional development.

My areas of certification and study span from my Masters in Education, to pilates and personal training, speed and agility, human biomechanics and biodynamics, flexibility and mobility, nutrition and sports-specific nutrition, sports psychology, sports performance, nervous system training and breath work, fascial stretch and release, functional movement assessments, and fitness program development and business coaching.

Years of working with experts has transformed how I teach, and enabled me to found PLAY, the platform through which you can transform your own perspective on fitness education, and actualize the potential of each individual client with whom you work.
